The upshot of this story and the one I found first, on MsNBC,  -  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21683347 is that Aquabeads/Bindees are coated in something that converts to GHB, or the date rape drug.  This has lead to five children reported falling sick after swallowing them - the first two ending up in a coma.
